5 Lessons I Learned Working as a Customer Care Agent: Real Insights

Early in my customer service journey, I got a chance to work at a prestigious call center in Westlands . I must say that I  was destined for this job as I was interviewed via phone and landed it immediately.  This  reminds me of the importance of creating meaningful relationships. You see, a friend I had gone to college with had volunteered my contacts and informed me that I will be contacted.  I had a lot going on as a first time mum and missed the first call.  This friend called me and informed me that I would be contacted again and to keep my phone close. Just like that, I passed the interview done in Kiswahili and reported for my first corporate job as a call center agent . My entry into the customer care world helped me to harness skills in empathy , communication and problem solving . If you are planning to venture into this field, here are five lessons i learned working as a customercare agent that will help you. 1. Always be prepared ...

My Magical Journey with Ajira Digital

Let me tell you about my magical journey with Ajira Digital.

I learnt about Ajira when I bumped into a certain poster on Facebook advertising for a class. I never paid too much attention to it until last year, when I became free and was interested in adding some knowledge.

Ajira had me covered for a whole week. I felt the privilege of being in an online class. Not that I haven’t attended any online course, but this felt like I was back in school. Only that in this case, everything was completely free apart from my data and time. Having left college ten years ago, it was a nice experience having lecturers, but for Ajira, they refer to them as trainers interested in my progress.

Let’s dive into these trainers; they are quite patient and really understanding. Imagine having to train over 100 people, and with some raising their hands in the course of the training. They are also qualified for their niche and answer questions amicably. They are oozing with so much knowledge that it leaves you mesmerized.

Now the course was for a whole week, so if you are not free for a week, then you will miss a lot. The trainers had a timetable that was followed duly. Each section is more interesting than the last. I love that Ajira does not just offer you knowledge; they assist you to learn how to make money online using reputable sites such as Upwork, Fiverr, Timebucks, and Sproutgigs, among others. They help you to create an account in these sites, guide you until you become proficient, and begin to earn.

After the first week, you get into a five-week mentorship whereby lessons continue, but in this case, they are scheduled at least twice a week. During this time, you have all the time to ask questions and seek clarification on what you did not understand during the online class. Now the tricky part is that you must participate by doing assignments via Google Classroom, which are graded.

Finally, after finishing the mentorship session, you get to the good part, which is graduating. Interesting, right? Virtual graduation reminds you that you have actually made it, and it's now upon you to go out there and implement what you have learnt.

Ajira Digital is an amazing program that should be applauded for the exemplary work they are doing. Thanks to them, I have been in and out of the classes all year long. As a result, I have accumulated experience in Blog Writing, Transcription, Graphic Design for Artificial Intelligence, Forex Trading, Data Entry and Analysis, accompanied by certificates that I can download.

I could write a lot about the resources and the assistance you get from them, but that would draw away your interest in them. Why don’t you go book a class and see for yourself how you become street smart and navigate anything digitally.
