Your name defines our identity, Your ideals define our character, Your courage defines our personality, Your words defines our resilience. DEDICATION TO ALL MOTHERS

Dearest friend, Pride of the society, Pillar of the family, Is what she is. A disciplinarian for a good cause, A lawyer instills good behavior and equality, A companion in sharing of problems, A cook she makes us all line up for fillings. Her smile is enough, Her hug comforts and reassures, Her word encourages and soothes, Her touch smooths problem coz she cares. Mother, you are the best, May you always have the best, May life's happiness and challenges mold you the best way, May you emerge a winner in the test of time.

Stolen Lives

It is sad when you think about it Of how dreams are crushed And how the Society is robbed of its best minds While everyone watches and does nothing What will become of our future? I miss the old good days When love blossomed among friends and foes When it was difficult to take law into your hands When conflicts were resolved amicably When did the rain start beating us? You can be alive in the morning and gone by the evening Not by God’s grace but by the hands of Grace or Grey Morals have gone to the dogs And everyone has become an executioner What will become of us? We need to discover how to turn things around Excuses will not save us For when fate knocks even destiny will evade you Your beauty will mean nothing How will you handle it? It’s time to stand up for the truth To discover the beauty that lies within everyone Refuse to be controlled by anger For life is precious Who are you to take it away?

LINDA’S CLUMSINESS

She sat staring into oblivion for such a long time that she did not hear him come in. He sat in the darkness with her, not daring to talk as she was in a lousy mood. He decided then that the best action was to walk away and that’s what he did. He went into their bedroom and jumped into bed. Linda was a hard person to please. She was always concerned about her image and what people would say that it affected her relationship with her friends and family. On this occasion, she was unhappy because her husband had forgotten to attend her birthday party. She had to lie to her friends that he was out of town to avoid the questions and the glances. Mark had tried to explain to her that he had a deadline to beat and that it escaped his mind that she had a party organized. LOOKING FOR AN IDENTITY

Image
They call her black, a child of a black nation, They call her poor, a child of the slums, They call her little girl, a child of her mother, But what does she call herself? She stares into oblivion, Oblivion where she sees nothing, Nothing has come out of her life, Life that she has had to face. A memory comes to mind, Mind that has had to ponder a lot, A lot about her past and the looming future, Future that is meant to define her. She was once bright, Bright to read and write, Write she did for her life depended on it, It was after all her education. She thought it would deliver her from poverty, Poverty that she had been born into, Into a life of misery and anguish, Anguish she faced at the hands of a predator, It was a chilly morning, Morning that was beautiful and calm, Calm that she needed in her life, Life that had dealt her one blow after another. Mother said he was the Good Samaritan, Samaritan who would pay her ...
