Mourning The Loss Of Our 4 Beauties

 1. Black Panther

She was the firstborn and like all firstborns carried herself with grace and respect. When it was time for meals, she would not be seen rushing with the pack. She left the young ones to eat and have their share. She gave us seven awesome descendants and lost three saying they were God's finest and to him, they went. She was a proud mother and tended to her young with charisma and patience.

She took her role so seriously that when it was time to move on, she would not do born was like the mother who stood at the school's gate on her child's first day in school wondering whether she should go for her screaming child. Black Panther was loved for she was a black beauty. The firstborn in the family with whom all the hope was placed on.

She desired to have other descendants and settled on the odd No 13. However, she did not live to see her descendants as she became ill and in two days became the first casualty in the family. She gave a grand bow on a fine Saturday morning and off she went leaving her lonely pack with only 7 days, not yet formed. She was loved by her keeper, the mother of the house for she was a representation of her. Beautiful, simple, and loving.

2. Golden

This beauty had a lovely color and was the second born in the family. She was a virgin whose innocence was taken so early. She was able to overcome her adversities and stand tall to be counted. She was aggressive and fierce which made her feared and loved with equal measure. She brought forth 8 beautiful descendants of all colors depicting her beautiful blend of white and brown. She received the name Golden coz she was a star in our eyes for she adopted seven children with the joy of a mother. She was the stepmother to seven and did not feel the need to reject them even when they were so much different from her own. She taught them to coexist with one another and stood firm leading from the front. She was overprotective of her herd always choosing the best of everything. She became ill and would not want to leave her young herd. Even in pain and anguish, she felt the need to protect and show love.

She lost her battle on a fine Wednesday morning. She had lost 3 of her descendants earlier on and felt the need to be with them. So, she left behind 12 strong young ones who could defend themselves against danger. Just like their keeper, a young boy with all the energy in the world showcasing prominence, strength, talent, and power. She left the world a better version of herself.

3. Slay Queen

This one had decided that she did not crave to be a firstborn with all the responsibility that comes with it. She was a middle child surrounded by strong abilities almost overshadowing her. Who would want to be trampled upon when you could use your inner strength? She was a beauty to behold with her colorful skin texture. She was calm, loved, and very choosy, hence the name slay queen. You would feed her ugali and she would look at it, deep inside asking “What the hell!”. She would walk away and come back hoping you had prepared a different meal. She did not have the charisma to carry children, but she loved the produce dropping one after the other. She loved to be touched perhaps a craving for assurance and recognition.

When she became ill, she became the strongest of them all. Holding the light for the others deciding that her time to leave was not near. She continued to produce and shine hoping that the light at the end of the tunnel will be visible for her. However, you cannot fight destiny, so she accepted God's timing and left on a Friday. She was like the keeper, the man of the house, strong when needed to be, and bold in making decisions. She knew she could shine, but decided to enjoy the glory in the background. Fashionably moving with grace.

4. Ruby

Oooh! Our last born baby in the pack who came in so malnourished and looking for acceptance. She loved to segregate herself perhaps for fear of being judged. She was a beauty, brown, and loved to sample the food of all caliber. She disliked duties just like any last born and was always on the move. She loved to hustle knowing too well that if she did not rise up she would be forgotten. There was the hope that she will carry the day and be the mother that slay queen could not be. She did not fear to scavenge and would be seen adding flesh each new day.

She blossomed in a short span and walked like the world belonged only to her. She sparkled in the light just like her name. However, her only weakness was that she was not strong in spirit and decided that death was her fate. She did not fight with destiny perhaps choosing to fight another day. She welcomed her death with open arms on a Monday. She was mourned by her keeper who has a strong personality, inquisitive, talented and a future woman of substance Ruby remains dear in her heart as a precious jewel not to be forgotten.

The four gave us so much joy and kept us preoccupied. They gave us a sense of purpose making each new day memorable than the last. They helped us to overcome our fears and learn something new each day. They brought out the best in us and their glory, we had the best year.

As you depart, we remain hopeful that others will feel the void you have left behind. You will always remain close to our hearts.
